Homeowners!

We are officially homeowners!

It's never easy buying a home, but somehow we seem to make things even harder. We first found this house when it was in "short sale" and waited to put an offer in to the bank when it came on the market again as a foreclosure. It didn't take long for us to get the paperwork in order and then plan for the inspection and closing. Over the next 6 weeks we had a dozen inspections scheduled and our closing was pushed back twice before we finally could call the house ours. The bank hired two different contractors to de-winterize the house and in the end they managed to flood the basement, tear up the walls, and also fix four broken pipes in the walls. Less than an hour before closing the bank decided to just give us the money instead of the contractors and told us that we had to close by 4pm if we wanted the deal. Two hours later we had Opa (our personal contractor) at the house tearing down the entryway to remodel.

We do have a lot of work to do on the house before we can move in, but hopefully we'll be in our new house by Easter. Pray!

This is such a great house! The sunset hits the front entry windows and beams sunshine everywhere...pretty views, and lots of room for Ethan to get lost in! Congratulations kids...
